Dr. Kevin Smith (Biology and Environmental Studies) has an opening for one or two paid summer undergraduate researchers to assist with his research on aquatic biodiversity and species extinction. The positions will last up to 10 weeks (but are flexible). The work will include one or more of the following, depending on student interests: 1) Biodiversity surveys of aquatic habitats in and around the Davidson, NC area; 2) Experiments on extinction vulnerability in local aquatic species; and 3) The opportunity to travel to Missouri to assist with Dr. Smith’s experimental research at Tyson Research Center. Students may also have the opportunity to travel to the Ecological Society of America meeting in California in August.
